Online Masters in Renewable Energy Studies

 

In brief:

EUCLID’s online master in Energy Studies is closely related to the EUCLID’s MBA program in the same field. The difference is that the MBA program offers a strong MBA core + energy courses, whereas the MSc focuses exclusively and more deeply on energy technologies, issues and policies.

EUCLID’s MBA in Energy Studies offers a strong MBA core capped with high-level courses covering oil and gas, renewable energy, energy business issues, etc. Graduate can expect to complete the program transformed and enhanced in their ability to make a difference in the global energy business.

This program exists in two variants: MSc in Energy Studies and MSc in Renewable Energy Studies. The online master in Renewable Energy is listed in the IRENA database. (Note: IRENA is the UN-affiliated intergovernmental organization dedicated to renewable energy policy, but it does not have a university charter. This program includes publications and papers publishers by IRENA. EUCLID’s headquarters state, The Gambia, is a full Member State of IRENA).

Tuition:

As a public non-profit institution, EUCLID is able to offer affordable, low-tuition programs. The total tuition for this program (current cycle), based on 40 USCH, is:

USD Zone: USD 850 (Admission Fee) + (40 credits) x 169 (per credit) = USD 7,610

Partial scholarships are available ECOWAS residents in accordance with the EUCLID - ECOWAS MOU.

Overview

The EUCLID MNRJ-R (Online Master in Renewable Energy Studies — focusing on Global Energy Technologies, Policies and Management) is a distance and non-resident study program. Its goal is to prepare graduate-level professionals for high-level positions in public and corporate governance.

Specific Objectives

This Master's degree program prepares future managers and executives who intend to develop their careers in the global renewable energy industry, both on the private and governmental side of this critical economic factor.

The curriculum was primarily designed to train government staff needing a comprehensive overview of this vast field, but it is also suitable to prepare students and working professionals for careers with governmental bodies, international organizations, and multinational corporations.

Thanks to its low tuition and institutional relationships, it is of special interest to citizens and residents of EUCLID and ECOWAS Participating States.

The EUCLID~M-Energy program is also unique in the sense that it is the only Master’s Degree program dealing with Energy Studies actually offered by an intergovernmental organization, thus allowing direct interaction with practitioners as well as opening rare internship opportunities at diplomatic missions and events.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree or its international equivalent, issued by a recognized institution.

Government-sponsored applicants (who are already government staff) may be admitted without a Bachelor’s degree if their level of education and experience is deemed sufficient. EUCLID may require these participants to complete bridge courses prior to enrolling in the program.

Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required and will be tested.

Students are expected to be in position to dedicate 10 to 15 effective hours of study on a weekly basis.
